Tomonosuke (Tom) Katagiri joined the Akur8 team in 2023 as a Sales Director focused on business development in Japan and Korea. Mr. Katagiri was previously Head of the Aladdin Client Transformation team within BlackRock Solutions (BRS) in Japan.
Suguru is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan, Associate of the Society of Actuaries, Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics, and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, with over ten years of actuarial experience, both in life and non-life insurance. He started his professional career with a large life insurer in Japan in 2013. Then he moved to a general insurance organization in 2016. Also since 2017, he had been involved in numerous analytical projects on reinsurance side at a global reinsurance broking firm. He joined Akur8 as an Actuarial Data Scientist in Tokyo in 2023 to support actuaries and pricing teams, thus helping them to make faster and smoother decisions thanks to Akur8’s transparent machine learning technology.
